In May we will be discussing:


Tomkins, S. "Shame-Humiliation vs. Contempt-Disgust: The Nature of the Response" (Vol. 2, Chapter 16: pp. 289-312).


*Moll, J. et al. (2005) "The Moral Affiliations of Disgust: A Functional MRI Study", Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology, Vol. 18, No. 1, pp. 68-78.


Readings include not only the work of Tomkins (specifically, we are reading through the volumes of his

magnus opus Affect, Imagery, Consciousness) but of other researchers related to Affect Script theory. These

are relatively casual Zoom interactions, but participants are expected to have, at minimum, a mid-level
